Looking for a hands-on role where no two days are the same? We are hiring a Full Time, Permanent Utility Worker I, II, or III in EPCOR’s Utility department emphasizing on the Wastewater Collections system within Arizona’s Eastern Division reporting to Anthem, AZ. What You’ll Do

  • Perform skilled installation, maintenance, and repair of Wastewater Collection systems, including sewer laterals, mains, taps, manholes, and associated lift stations.
  • Clear blockages, conduct main line cleaning, and support roach control activities.
  • Assist team members in addressing customer concerns related to sewer or collection system issues.
  • Support Water Distribution operations in the Eastern Division—serving Anthem, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Tubac, and River Systems—in addition to wastewater responsibilities.
  • Repair and maintain fire hydrants, valves, water meters, water mains, and service lines.
  • Support water quality initiatives through system flushing, sampling, flow testing, and preventive maintenance.
  • Collaborate with Field Customer Service, Meter Reading, and Line Locating teams to ensure effective field operations.
  • Complete work orders, reports, and system documentation using computer‑based tools and applications.

What You Bring

  • Knowledge of wastewater collection systems water distribution.
  • Experience with tools and equipment used in field utility work.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, service orders, and maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather, including heat.
  • Flexibility for emergency call-outs and rotating responsibilities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or with a team.

Minimum Requirements

All positions require a High School diploma, or equivalent and a valid Arizona Driver’s License.

Utility Worker I:

  • Grade I certification required in Wastewater Collections (Water Distribution I is also desirable)
  • Valid AZ Commercial Driver License Class A required (Tanker/Hazmat endorsements preferred or must obtain within the first six months)

Utility Worker II:

  • Minimum of two years of on the job or equivalent experience in Wastewater Collections field. (Water Distribution II is desirable)
  • Grade II certifications required in Wastewater Collections (Water Distribution is also desirable).
  • Valid AZ Commercial Driver License Class A required (Tanker/Hazmat endorsements preferred or must obtain within the first six months)

Utility Worker III:

  • Minimum of three years of qualifying work experience in Wastewater Collections field. (Water Distribution III is desirable)
  • Grade III certifications required in Wastewater Collections (Water Distribution III is also desirable).
  • Valid AZ Commercial Driver License Class A required (Tanker/Hazmat endorsements preferred or must obtain within the first six months)

Note: Applicants with Vactor truck operations and CMOM program will be given preference.
